2017 opens new horizons for The Pharaons Rally JVD, and the Cross Country Rally World, a new adventure, in a new country for rally raid races: OMAN!

This beautiful country will be hosting a series of races: Baja and Cross-Country rallies that allow competitors to discover this pristine territory dominated by mountains, dunes and seas.

Our first race - the OMAN DESERT BAJA - is set in the northern part of the Omani desert, Jebel Sifah starting February 23rd - ending February 25th.

OMAN DESERT BAJA will consist of four very special and challenging stages. Day 1 will consist of three special stages starting from the ocean and then race through the winding mountains to reach the peaks: at an altitude of over 2000 m, where eagles dominate the skies. It is a breathtaking stage with some challenging climbs and then back to the Omani sea. Day 2 will witness a complete change for pilot and co-pilot skills in landscapes and type of terrain: over 200 km of pure red sand dunes!

One of the best road-book making teams, Stephane Le Bail, accompanied by Mahmoud Noureldin (the team that has been designing the Pharaons rally route since 2010) just got back from the desert extremely fulfilled from the huge variety of terrain. They crossed over four magnificent stages totaling 600 km of pure adrenaline!

Quoting Stephane Le Bail: "Magic, luxurious, friendly, there are not enough words to describe Oman. I have just discovered a welcoming country for this new rally. The variety of landscapes is unbelievable! OMAN DESERT CHALLENGE Competitors will experience a start over a splendid waterfront and then the mountain at 2300 m to crossing dunes in the desert in just few days. Piloting, navigation, crossing and safety: all the things we love in the rally-raid, not to mention the stunning landscape; a priority for M. Noureldin and for me. There are still dreams to be unveiled in this world and especially in Oman. See you soon in Oman” See you in February.
